With 72 rooms and suites, an award-winning spa, excellent local dining and easy access to the Adelboden-Lenk ski area, it is an ideal base for both active Alpine holidays and slower mountain escapes.

Design & Atmosphere

• The Cambrian puts a contemporary spin on the traditional Swiss mountain hotel. Its 72 rooms and suites were refurbished between 2018 and 2023 with Dutch designers Johan Bouman and Jeroen Wand, combining clean lines, warm natural tones and understated Alpine details.

Rooms & Suites

• Accommodation ranges from contemporary Deluxe Rooms and Junior Suites to spacious Family, Cambrian, Adelboden and Snowdon Suites. South-facing categories offer the best panoramic mountain views, while selected rooms and suites also feature private balconies.

Bryn Williams at The Cambrian

• The hotel’s signature restaurant is led by Chef Patron Bryn Williams, combining his Welsh and London influences with ingredients sourced from the mountains, farms, rivers and lakes of the surrounding Bernese Oberland. Head Chef Gyula Patrik Szilagyi brings experience from Michelin-starred kitchens in London to the daily operation.

The Axe Bar

• The Axe Bar is The Cambrian’s relaxed social hub, serving lunch, hearty dishes, local beers, cocktails and an extensive wine selection. In good weather the terrace is one of the best places in the hotel to enjoy the surrounding mountain views.

The Cambrian Spa

• The award-winning spa includes heated indoor and outdoor pools, Finnish sauna, steam bath, rain shower, Kneipp facilities, relaxation areas and treatment rooms. Treatments use natural Susanne Kaufmann products inspired by ingredients from the Alpine region.

The Outdoor Pool

• Heated year-round to approximately 34°C, the outdoor pool is one of The Cambrian’s signature features. Built-in hydro-massage jets and uninterrupted views across the Adelboden valley make it particularly impressive when the surrounding mountains are covered in snow.

Fitness

• The newly equipped fitness area is open 24 hours and features modern cardio equipment alongside free weights, making it easy to fit in a workout before or after a day in the mountains.

Skiing

• Adelboden forms part of the Adelboden-Lenk ski region. The village lift is approximately ten minutes on foot from the hotel, while a seasonal hotel ski shuttle runs to the main Oey-Silleren cable car station at selected times.

Families

• The Cambrian works particularly well for families thanks to its split-level Family Suites and larger multi-bedroom accommodation. Children are welcome in the indoor and outdoor pools during designated family hours, while baby cots and selected connecting rooms are also available.

Summer

• Adelboden becomes an excellent outdoor playground in summer, with hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, climbing and swimming in mountain lakes. Mountain bikes and e-bikes can be rented directly from the hotel.

Location

• The hotel sits in the centre of Adelboden, directly opposite the main bus stop and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and the village lift. Its elevated position gives many south-facing rooms exceptional views across the surrounding Bernese Alps.

Ski & Bike Storage

• A dedicated equipment room provides secure storage for skis and bikes, while the hotel team can assist with ski information, bike routes and seasonal activities throughout Adelboden.
