From the moment guests arrive, what stands out is not only the spectacular setting, but the unmistakable sense of joy and ease that defines the experience.

The Interior

The result is timeless rather than trendy, and unmistakably Kulm.

What we love

  • There are legendary alpine hotels, and then there is the Kulm. Staying here feels less like checking into a hotel and more like stepping into the living history of St. Moritz. The building carries stories in its walls, yet never feels formal or distant. Instead, there is a warmth and openness that immediately puts guests at ease.

  • The entrance alone is iconic. Especially during the winter season, it stands out along St. Moritz’s main street as a symbol of old-world elegance and alpine glamour. Step outside and you are surrounded by luxury boutiques and mono-brand stores, all within easy walking distance, yet the hotel itself remains a calm anchor amid the buzz.

  • What we particularly love is how the Kulm excels even when the weather does not. On stormy days or white-out afternoons, the hotel becomes a destination in itself. Between the spa, restaurants, lounges and discreet corners to retreat with a book or a drink, there is never a sense of waiting for conditions to improve. The experience continues regardless.

  • The proximity to the historic Cresta Run and the Olympic bobsleigh track adds another unique dimension. This is one of the last remaining natural ice tracks in the world and still part of the World Cup circuit. Guests can arrange a real bobsleigh ride through the concierge, an unforgettable adrenaline experience that is pure St. Moritz. Eating lightly beforehand is strongly advised.

  • The Kulm also stands out for the breadth of services offered on-site. An in-house hair styling salon, high-quality childcare facilities and a service team that handles complex requests with effortless confidence make longer stays particularly comfortable for families and international travellers alike.

  • Then there is the social side of St. Moritz, and the Kulm sits right at its heart. The legendary Dracula Club, located within the hotel, remains one of the most exclusive nightlife venues in the Alps. Known for hosting private events and discreet celebrations, it is part of the hotel’s cultural DNA and still draws an international crowd.

  • In February, the frozen lake in front of the hotel transforms into the stage for Polo on Ice, one of St. Moritz’s most iconic events. Watching world-class polo played against a backdrop of snow and mountains is an experience that exists nowhere else in quite the same way.

  • Ultimately, what makes the Kulm so special is its ability to balance grandeur with genuine hospitality. It is refined without being rigid, historic without feeling dated, and luxurious without excess. Guests leave not only impressed, but uplifted. That joyful expression the hotel itself describes is very real.

  • The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is not just a place to stay. It is part of the rhythm of the resort, a cornerstone of alpine culture, and a benchmark for what a true grand mountain hotel should be.
