The Alpine Hamlet
- Les Fermes de Marie opened in 1989 after Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet brought together a collection of authentic old Alpine farm buildings and reconstructed them in Megève. Nine interconnected chalets now form a small private hamlet surrounded by gardens and mountain views.
Design & Atmosphere
- Weathered timber, stone, traditional Savoyard furniture, wool fabrics and collected decorative pieces define the interiors. Rather than reproducing a polished chalet aesthetic, the hotel embraces the irregularity and warmth of genuine old mountain buildings.
Rooms & Suites
- Accommodation ranges from compact Classic Rooms to substantial multi-bedroom family suites. Balconies, terraces, fireplaces and mountain views feature across many categories, while Pure Altitude amenities, Nespresso machines and Bluetooth speakers add contemporary comfort.
Duplex Family Room
- At approximately 50 m², the Duplex Family configuration accommodates two adults and up to three children with sleeping areas across two levels and a balcony overlooking Rochebrune, Mont Joux and Mont d’Arbois.
Prestige Suite
- The approximately 40 m² Prestige Suite includes a separate living room, south or south-east-facing balcony and stone bathroom, creating an intimate option for couples or a family with one child.
Mont-Blanc Suite
- At approximately 60 m², the Mont-Blanc Suite combines a separate bedroom and living room with fireplace, private sauna and terrace or balcony overlooking the surrounding Alps.
Mont Joly Suite
- The approximately 80 m² Mont Joly Suite has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large dressing room, living room and balcony overlooking Rochebrune and Mont Joly, making it particularly well suited to families.
Private Chalets
- Les Fermes de Marie also operates a collection of private residences ranging from intimate chalets within the hotel grounds to substantial five-bedroom homes around Megève, all supported by hotel-style housekeeping, breakfast and concierge services.
Chalet des Fermes de Marie
- The 400 m² Chalet des Fermes accommodates up to ten guests in five en-suite bedrooms. A private underground passage connects directly with the main hotel, giving residents discreet access to the spa, restaurants, Ski Shop and children’s facilities.
Chalet du Skieur
- Located within the hotel grounds, the 140 m² Chalet du Skieur has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, terrace and private sauna.
Chalet de la Grande Ourse
- New for winter 2026/27, the 112 m² Chalet de la Grande Ourse accommodates up to six guests in three bedrooms and adds a Nordic hot tub. It sits within the one-hectare Fermes de Marie estate only minutes from central Megève.
Le Restaurant des Fermes
- The traditional restaurant forms the culinary heart of the hotel, serving generous mountain cuisine built around seasonal market produce and the flavours of the surrounding region.
Le Carnotzet
- Le Carnotzet is dedicated to the great cheese dishes of the Alps. Artisan raclette, Savoyard fondue and other regional specialities are served each evening in an intimate setting of timber and traditional red-and-white tiles.

Chamois Gondola
- The hotel shuttle runs directly to the Chamois gondola in central Megève, providing access towards Rochebrune and the wider Évasion Mont-Blanc ski domain.
Ski Shop
- An in-house Ski Shop provides equipment rental, accessories and mountain clothing, allowing guests to organise their ski equipment before taking the shuttle to the slopes.
Hameau des Enfants

The Nine Farmhouses
- These are not modern buildings dressed up to look old. Genuine historic Alpine farms were dismantled and reconstructed to create the hotel, which explains why the atmosphere feels so convincing.
The Megève Location
- Five minutes on foot from the village centre is close enough for dinner and shopping while still giving the hotel proper gardens, peace and a sense of separation.
The Pure Altitude Heritage
- Mountain wellness was part of Les Fermes de Marie long before Alpine spas became fashionable. That history gives the spa considerably more credibility than a generic wellness floor.
Le Carnotzet
- There are plenty of places to eat fondue in Megève, but doing it without leaving your own Alpine hamlet has obvious appeal after a long ski day.
The Family Suites
- Proper second bedrooms, bunk areas and multi-room layouts make the family categories genuinely functional rather than simply larger double rooms with sofa beds.
Chalet des Fermes
- Five bedrooms, 400 m² and your own private house, yet an underground passage takes you straight into the hotel. It is an unusually clever combination of chalet privacy and full hotel service.
The New Grande Ourse Chalet
- Three bedrooms and a Nordic bath within the Fermes de Marie grounds make this an interesting new option for winter 2026/27, especially for smaller families who do not need a huge chalet.
The Children’s Hamlet
- A proper kids’ area with its own dining room and programme gives families freedom without making the rest of the hotel feel like a family resort.
The Shuttle Setup
- It is not ski-in/ski-out, and it should not be marketed as such. The trade-off is a much better village location, with the hotel shuttle handling the short journey to the Chamois gondola.
The Atmosphere
- This is the strongest reason to choose Les Fermes de Marie. Old wood, open fires, snowy paths between chalets and Megève only a few minutes away create a version of Alpine living that feels remarkably difficult to reproduce elsewhere.
