Hotel facts

Set directly on the slopes of Courchevel 1850’s prestigious Jardin Alpin, Cheval Blanc Courchevel combines the intimacy of a contemporary mountain house with exceptional gastronomy, Guerlain wellness and effortless access to Les Trois Vallées. With just 36 rooms and suites in the main Maison alongside a collection of extraordinary private residences, the experience is highly personalised from first tracks in the morning to dinner at Courchevel’s only three-Michelin-starred restaurant.

Cheval Blanc Courchevel

  • Open each winter since 2006, Cheval Blanc Courchevel was the first mountain Maison created around Cheval Blanc’s highly personal approach to hospitality. Contemporary design, local Alpine materials and an extensive art collection give it an identity that feels distinctly different from the traditional grand hotels of Courchevel.

Rooms & Suites

  • The main Maison offers 36 rooms and suites, beginning at approximately 40 m². Custom furniture, rich fabrics, bespoke dressing rooms and carefully curated art feature throughout, while every accommodation opens towards the mountains with its own balcony or terrace.

Bathrooms

  • Generous bathrooms combine bathtubs with separate shower-hammams featuring chromotherapy, creating a private post-ski wellness ritual directly inside the room.

Duplex Suites

  • The one-bedroom Duplex Suites extend across two levels and add generous living areas, while the larger categories combine additional space with panoramic views across the Jardin Alpin and surrounding peaks.

The Chalet

  • The original three-bedroom Chalet offers approximately 315 m² across four floors with direct ski access, expansive living and dining areas, fireplace, private cinema, spa treatment room and outdoor Nordic bath.

The Apartment

  • Spanning 650 m² across two floors, The Apartment is one of Cheval Blanc Courchevel’s most exceptional residences. Four bedrooms are joined by three reception rooms, grand piano, fireplace, private kitchen and bar, wellness studio and panoramic balconies.

Private Ski Salon

  • The Apartment has its own direct lift connecting the residence to a private slopeside ski room, allowing guests to move from penthouse to piste without passing through the rest of the hotel.

New Private Chalets

  • Cheval Blanc has expanded its residential collection with new five- and nine-bedroom chalets designed by architect Peter Marino. Positioned opposite the main Maison in Jardin Alpin, they combine complete privacy with discreet access to Cheval Blanc’s restaurants, spa and slopes.

Five-Bedroom Chalet

  • The approximately 900 m² five-bedroom residence accommodates up to ten guests and includes its own indoor swimming pool, Guerlain spa, private cinema and interactive games areas. A dedicated team of Artisans manages the residence throughout the stay.

Nine-Bedroom Chalet

  • At approximately 1,500 m², the nine-bedroom chalet accommodates up to eighteen guests and takes the private-residence concept to an extraordinary scale. An indoor pool, private Guerlain spa, cinema, play areas and dedicated Chefs, Artisans and Majordomes create an almost completely self-contained Courchevel retreat.

Le 1947 à Cheval Blanc

  • Yannick Alléno leads Le 1947 à Cheval Blanc, the only restaurant in Courchevel awarded three Michelin stars. Named after the celebrated Château Cheval Blanc vintage, the intimate restaurant combines highly technical contemporary French cooking with ingredients and inspirations drawn from the mountains.

Le Grill Alpin

  • Le Grill Alpin is the relaxed culinary heart of the Maison, serving contemporary Alpine cuisine from breakfast onwards. Bold red interiors, generous dishes and a convivial atmosphere provide a deliberately less formal counterpoint to Le 1947.

La Terrasse de Cheval Blanc

  • Directly beside the slopes, La Terrasse centres around a large outdoor brasero. Yannick Alléno’s flame-led menu is designed for long lunches in the winter sun before guests click back into their skis.

La Table de Partage

  • The private dining room brings up to sixteen guests together around one table, with menus designed around the pleasure of shared dishes and celebrations.

Le Bar

  • Open throughout the day, Le Bar combines a crackling fireplace with cocktails, champagne, wines and light dishes. Live music on selected evenings makes it a natural gathering place after skiing.

The Cigar Yurt

  • A traditional yurt dedicated to cigars and fine spirits adds one of the Maison’s more unexpected spaces and provides an intimate setting after dinner.

Carte Blanche

  • Cheval Blanc’s 24-hour in-room dining concept is deliberately flexible. Breakfast in bed, private dinners, children’s favourites and more elaborate one-off requests can all be created around the guest rather than a conventional room-service schedule.

Cheval Blanc Spa

  • The Cheval Blanc Spa works with Guerlain on treatments specifically created around winter sports, altitude and recovery. Five treatment rooms are complemented by the Orchidée Salon, a private treatment room designed for two.

Pool & Winter Baths

  • Wellness facilities include an indoor infinity-edge swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, chromotherapy hammam, ice fountain and outdoor Russian banya with hot tub, creating a strong indoor-outdoor recovery experience after skiing.

Hair Room Service

  • Parisian hairstylist John Nollet operates an exclusive Hair Room Service within the Maison, adding another unusually specialised element to the wellness offering.

Fitness

  • The fitness centre is open around the clock with Technogym equipment, while personal training and individually arranged sessions can be organised during the stay.

Ski-in/Ski-out

  • Cheval Blanc sits directly on the Jardin Alpin slopes with immediate access to Courchevel and the wider Les Trois Vallées ski domain. Guests can leave and return to the Maison on skis without using a resort shuttle.

Ski Service

  • The Ski Service team prepares equipment slopeside every morning, with skis and snowboards positioned ready for each guest. Fitting, equipment advice and other mountain arrangements are handled directly by the Maison.

Le Carrousel

  • Younger guests have their own dedicated world at Le Carrousel, with supervised creative activities, games and seasonal adventures designed specifically around children.

Le Paddock

  • Teenagers have a separate space at Le Paddock with interactive games, bespoke table football and a screening area, avoiding the usual one-size-fits-all approach to family facilities.

Art Collection

  • More than 200 works are woven throughout the Maison. Artists including Jean-Michel Othoniel and Bruno Peinado contribute to an environment that feels closer to a private contemporary collection than conventional hotel decoration.

Location

  • Cheval Blanc Courchevel sits directly in Le Jardin Alpin, one of the most secluded and desirable parts of Courchevel 1850. The location combines true slopeside access with the restaurants, boutiques and social life of central Courchevel only a short distance away.

What we love

Le 1947

  • Courchevel has no shortage of exceptional restaurants, but Yannick Alléno’s three-Michelin-starred Le 1947 still sits in a category of its own. It is a destination within the destination.

The Ski Service

  • Your skis are prepared and waiting slopeside in the morning. Clip in and go. It is a tiny piece of theatre, but also an extremely efficient way to start a ski day.

The Jardin Alpin

  • Direct slope access combined with one of Courchevel 1850’s most private settings is difficult to improve upon. You are connected to the resort without ever feeling surrounded by it.

The Apartment

  • Six hundred and fifty square metres, four bedrooms, grand piano, private kitchen, wellness studio and its own lift directly to a private ski salon. This is much closer to having a fully serviced private residence than booking a hotel suite.

The New Chalets

  • The 900 m² five-bedroom and 1,500 m² nine-bedroom residences push that privacy even further. Private pools, Guerlain spas, cinemas and dedicated teams allow families and groups to create their own world while keeping Cheval Blanc next door.

The Guerlain Spa

  • Treatments specifically developed around altitude and winter sports make sense in a hotel where guests actually spend serious time skiing rather than treating the mountains as scenery.

La Terrasse

  • Lunch beside the piste around a blazing brasero before skiing away again afterwards captures the Courchevel experience rather well.

The Art

  • Bruno Peinado’s mirrored horse outside has become almost synonymous with Cheval Blanc Courchevel, but there are more than 200 works throughout the Maison. The collection gives the hotel a visual identity that is impossible to confuse with its neighbours.

The Family Spaces

  • Separate concepts for children and teenagers are a much smarter solution than putting everyone into one conventional kids’ club. Le Carrousel and Le Paddock allow different ages to have genuinely different experiences.

The Personalisation

  • Cheval Blanc’s real distinction is not any single restaurant, suite or spa facility. It is the extent to which almost everything can be adapted around the guest, from skiing and dining to private celebrations and completely bespoke mountain experiences.

About Courchevel 1850

Altitude: 1850m

Courchevel 1850 is the most elevated and glamorous village in Courchevel, set high in Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest linked ski area. Its 600 kilometres of pistes provide extraordinary freedom: every day can lead to new slopes, new valleys and fresh mountain views.

From the village, skiers have immediate access to beautifully groomed local pistes and the wider network linking Méribel, Val Thorens and beyond. Courchevel’s terrain is especially appealing for confident intermediates, but there is ample variety for beginners, families and expert skiers too. High-altitude lifts and carefully maintained slopes help sustain excellent winter conditions throughout the season.

Courchevel 1850 is also known for its distinctive luxury. Five-star hotels, elegant chalets, designer boutiques and a remarkable dining scene sit alongside traditional Savoyard touches. Michelin-starred restaurants, stylish après-ski and discreet service make the resort a natural choice for guests looking for a polished French Alpine holiday.

Yet the mountain remains central. Forest-lined pistes, long sunny terraces and wide views across the Tarentaise Valley give Courchevel real Alpine depth beyond its glamorous reputation. Winter walking, spas and family activities ensure there is plenty to enjoy away from skiing.

For guests seeking world-class skiing, exceptional service and a refined high-altitude setting, Courchevel 1850 is one of the Alps’ most iconic addresses.
